CAPTAIN NICOLE BRIGHAM

Captain Brigham is a dedicated public servant with a combined total of 25 years of service in public safety. Currently she is serving as Captain within the Fire Marshal’s Office.

Prior to joining the fire service, Captain Brigham served as a Detention Deputy with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Tampa, Florida. During her tenure with the Sheriff’s Office, she achieved numerous certifications, and was a member of the Security Threat Awareness Team, the Florida Gang Investigators Association and the Crisis Intervention Team. Captain Brigham retired in September 2013 and relocated to Carroll County, Georgia.

Captain Brigham began her career with Carroll County Fire Rescue in April 2014 as a volunteer firefighter and in March 2015, she was hired on as a full-time career firefighter. In 2016, after obtaining her Fire Investigator and Fire Inspector certifications, Captain Brigham began assisting the Fire Marshal’s Office with inspections and investigations, while still being assigned to an apparatus in the Operations Division. In 2018, Captain Brigham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in the Operations Division where she would serve as the officer in charge on many different apparatuses. During her time in the Operations Division, she obtained her National Registry Emergency Medical Technician, and certifications in Fire Investigations, Fire Inspector, Plan Reviewer, Fire Life Safety Educator, Instructor I & II, Fire Officer I & II, Rescue Technician, and Live Fire Instructor. Captain Brigham has investigated 138 fires during her tenure assisting the Fire Marshal’s Office.  She was promoted to the rank of Captain in the Fire Marshal’s Office in July 2024.

Captain Brigham has her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration, from Columbia Southern University and is currently working on her Master of Science in Fire Service Executive Leadership: Human Resource Management. Captain Brigham is an active member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, Georgia Fire Investigators Association, and Georgia Fire Inspectors Association.
