Application Fees

Personal checks, cash, certified checks or money orders are accepted; credit cards and debit cards are also accepted with an additional convenience fee. 

  • A fee of $79.00 for new applicants if paid by cash, check, certified checks or money orders made payable to Carroll County Probate Court. 
  • A fee of $82.71 for new applicants if paid by credit card or debit card.
  • This fee covers the:
  • $29.75 application fee
  • $5 charge for fingerprinting and local records check at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office
  • $43.25 charge by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation for a complete criminal records history
  • $1  mailing fee

Renewal Fees

A renewal application must be completed every 5 years for a fee of $35. If there has been more than 30 days that have lapsed after the expiration date, then it will be treated as a new application that will require the applicant to be re-fingerprinted.


Lost or Stolen Licenses

All lost or stolen licenses must be reported to the Probate Court within 48 hours and then the license can be submitted for a replacement upon payment of $6.00. If your license has been stolen, then a police report must be submitted with your application.


Refunds

No refund of any part of the application and other fees can be given once the application has been filed and the process has begun.
