2026 Candidate Information

Notice of Open Offices, Candidate Qualifying Period, and Fees

The Governing Authority and the Board of Elections and Registration of Carroll County hereby announce the offices to be voted on and the Qualifying Fees for those particular offices. The Qualifying Fee for the County Governing Authority is set at 3 percent of the minimum base salary specified in state law for each county based upon population. The Qualifying Fee for the Judge of State Court is set at 3 percent of the total gross salary of each office paid in the preceding calendar year. If not a salaried office, a reasonable fee set by the governing authority of said county.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-131, the list of qualifying fees for County Offices to be filled in the November 3, 2026 General Election are listed below. Such fees for Partisan Offices shall be paid to the County Executive Committee of the political party at the time of qualifying by any candidate seeking nomination in the May 19, 2026, Democratic or Republican Primary. Such fees for Nonpartisan Offices shall be paid to Carroll County Elections.

Qualifying for Partisan and Non-Partisan Candidates will begin on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 9:00 am and will close on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 12:00 pm (noon). Daily hours are as follows: 

Monday, March 2, 2026 9:00 – 4:30 

Tuesday, March 3, 2026 9:00 – 4:30 

Wednesday, March 4, 2026 9:00 – 4:30 

Thursday, March 5, 2026 9:00 – 4:30 

Friday, March 6, 2026 9:00 – 12:00 

Qualifying will be conducted in the Carroll County Administration Building, 997 Newnan Road, Carrollton, GA.
