About the Department

This department provides maintenance on county roadways and rights-of-way. This involves the upkeep of paved roads and well as the construction and/or paving of dirt roads. Vegetation control on rights-of-way, traffic signs, and pothole patching are also included in daily maintenance procedures. 

Our department has civilian employees and correctional officers who work in conjunction with the inmates housed in the Carroll County Prison. No work is to be done on county roadways or rights-of-way without written permission from this department.

Driveway Culverts

Need a driveway culvert installed? Carroll County Public Works no longer installs driveway culverts on private property.  The property owner is responsible for these installations. There is a $50.00 application fee.  Call 770-830-5901 for more information.
